About the Author

Orit Gilad was living in New York City with her husband when her first son was born premature. They spent three weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit, and she decided to breastfeed him from the start. The supportive atmosphere in the NICU and the lactation consultants helped her with the process of nursing a premature baby. After being discharged from the hospital, they continued with exclusive breastfeeding for more than six months, all over Manhattan. New York City is full of shops, restaurants, parks and cafes, and people do plenty of walking and dining out. It soon became a bit of a challenge to breastfeed during a subway ride or when strolling and shopping on the avenues looking for a comfortable spot to nurse.
After nursing her son in a massage chair at "Bed Bath and Beyond" Orit understood that no place is too embarrassing to breastfeed a hungry baby. She shared funny stories about many of the unexpected places she nursed her baby with her fellow breastfeeding community online and asked other mothers to share their craziest nursing stories with her as well. She then decided these funny experiences could be illustrated and brought together into an enjoyable book for any breastfeeding mom in the world. This book is the result of the top 100 breastfeeding situations of mothers from the US, UK, Japan, and all over the world. Any nursing mother will truly enjoy this entertaining book, and any mother who is new to breastfeeding will find it inspires her to nurse in public.
