Originally from the East Coast, I moved to California with my mother and brother when I was five. In the sixth-grade, an arts and crafts teacher led the project of writing and illustrating storybooks to read to the Kindergarteners. I fell in love with the process and continued writing fiction through high school and college. Majoring in Child Development, I worked as a child caregiver, pre-school teacher and Director, and with school-age programs. Those experiences led me to write for young audiences, and I moved forward with a Y/A novel series and branched into thrillers.
One thing I learned while working with and reading to children is what they responded to: Funny, colorful, detail, and rhymes. I tried to incorporate all of those factors in my pre-school collection.
In my daytime life, I am a Hairstylist in wine country, Northern California.
Enjoy!
