A native New Yorker, Lara Reznik escaped to New Mexico in the 1970s in a Karmann Ghia that she jump-started cross-country. As an English major at the University of New Mexico, Lara studied under esteemed authors Rudolfo Anaya and the late Tony Hillerman and later at the the University of Iowa's creative writing program.
In 2012 Lara published The Girl From Long Guyland, a psychological suspense novel. Guyland struck a chord as a ride down memory lane for baby boomers.
Following the breakout success of The Girl From Long Guyland, Lara retired from her day job as an I.T. manager to write full time.
Her 2nd novel, The M&M Boys, is a coming-of-age story of a troubled little leaguer, who learns valuable lessons about honor and friendship when Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle move next door to him during the home run race of 1961.
Bagels &Salsa followed after numerous Amazon reviewers of The Girl From Long Guyland wanted to learn more about the relationship of the New York Jewish protagonist, Laila, and her Hispanic husband Eduardo. The novel which evolved from a screenplay was published in January 2018. It was a finalist in the Texas Writers League Author Contest, Writers Digest and other screenwriting contests. Set in 1977, it is a both a prequel and sequel to The Girl From Long Guyland
Lara currently lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and 3 mini-Aussies.
