In 2012 Lara published The Girl From Long Guyland, a psychological suspense novel. Guyland struck a chord as a ride down memory lane for baby boomers.

Following the breakout success of The Girl From Long Guyland, Lara retired from her day job as an I.T. manager to write full time.

Her 2nd novel, The M&M Boys, is a coming-of-age story of a troubled little leaguer, who learns valuable lessons about honor and friendship when Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle move next door to him during the home run race of 1961.
