Hi, I’m Nick Aaron and I’m Dutch, but I was born in South Africa. My greatest ambition as a writer is to create an enjoyable read.
First, I am lucky to be a professional proof-reader. There is only one person who reads your novel ten times in a row, and that is the author himself. In my case, that person also happens to be a proof-reader. The resulting care given to a correct text is something book-lovers find very important.
A second aspect those same book-lovers draw attention to in their reviews is a compelling plot. I don’t know if this is a gift or an urge for an author: maybe both. But I’m very proud each time one of my readers mentions this favourably.
And finally you need lively and engaging characters to create an enjoyable read. I do what I can in that respect, and I believe the main protagonist of my series has at least one quality that makes her unforgettable: she has an unusual take on the world because she is blind. The refreshing, childlike point of view of the outsider has been a literary device for ages, from Montesquieu’s Persian Letters to Robert A. Heinlein’s Stranger in a Strange Land. Daisy Hayes fits into that tradition, and some readers have expressed their appreciation of her original perspective.
And as good things come in threes, the first three volumes of this series are permafree, making “D for Daisy” a very attractive offer for your subscribers indeed.
