About the Author

Ken Dickson is a Principal Engineer at a major electronics manufacturer; however, after surgery and medications left him mentally ill and landed him in a high-security psychiatric ward, he felt strongly compelled to embark upon a second career as a writer. He published a memoir: Detour from Normal, in 2013, which details his spiral into and out of madness. He has continued to write and published his first novel, The Road to Amistad, in 2016, a biographical fiction sequel to Detour from Normal. He is currently finishing his third book: Aim for Justice, the true story of how he lost his Second Amendment right to bear arms due to mental illness and subsequently fought for its reinstatement. Ken lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Beth and a motley crew of pets.
