Ana Shapkaliska is a scriptwriter, novelist and short story writer. She was born and raised in North Macedonia, Europe. After graduating from the School of Dramatic Arts at Belgrade University, she worked for fifteen years in the Macedonian Broadcasting Company. Many TV feature movies and serials were produced from 1990 to 2005 based on her original and adapted scripts. She is also the author of ten documentary movies.
She won the first place award in an anonymous competition for the original script "Today, Tomorrow" in 1997. Her work has been recognized at TV Festivals in Berlin, Sarajevo and Plovdiv. Her debut novel "Govinda, Anuttam and the Juhu Temple" was published by TRI in 2005 in Skopje. It was short-listed as a finalist for the best novel by the magazine "Utrinski Vesnik" in 2006. Her short story "Thuraya's World" received an honorary mention by Glimmer Train in 2016.
"Good Morning, Mr. Dalton" is her first book (of a five-part sequel) published in the USA in September 2019.
She lives with her husband in the United States in Cary, North Carolina.
