About the Author

Lucy Lipiner is a Holocaust survivor, but that does not define her. Lucy inherited her father Abraham's resourcefulness, and made education a priority in her home. She arrived in the United States at the age of 16 and went to work immediately to help support her family, bypassing high school. Lucy received her GED, a Bachelor's degree from City University of New York and a Master's degree from New York University, when her children were grown.

Lucy has been inspired by the memories and love of her parents, Rose and Abraham, and the experience of writing her book is a tribute to them.

Lucy's loving husband, Edward, passed away in 2014; she has two grown children, six grandchildren and lives in Manhattan.
