Amanda Norris is The Numerate Ninny – a mother, engineer, writer, knitter, and failed cook.

She loves to write about women who are neither wimpy nor perfect and the men who have to deal with them. Her genre of the moment is space opera - with the emphasis on people not technology.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, she now lives in Northern Nevada with her husband and her youngest son. Her older lives in Arizona and returns occasionally to disrupt the nest. The family obsession with deserts is concerning.

She has no pets but shares a house with other people’s animals, including a squawking bird to which she is allergic and a turtle that does not bother her at all.
