Jill Paterson is best known for her popular Fitzjohn Mystery Series. Set in the city of Sydney, her richly drawn characters include DCI Alistair Fitzjohn. A police officer of the old guard, Fitzjohn's methodical, painstaking methods are viewed by some as archaic. Nevertheless, over the years, they have brought him success as well as the respect of all but one of his colleagues, his nemesis, Chief Superintendent Grieg.
While continuing the Fitzjohn series, Jill is also working on a new series called The Phoebe Chadwick Mystery Series. Set along the east coast of Australia in a small township, Phoebe Chadwick heads the cast of characters as the female sleuth.
Jill and her musician husband, together with Fergus the cat, make their home on the outskirts of Canberra not far from the settings that serve as backdrops for her novels. When not writing, Jill dabbles in water colour painting and photography.
