A comic tale of faded fame and unlikely friendship. Eloise, an eccentric, former celebrity, lives in resentful chaos until she takes on Bradley, a withdrawn but wily teen, as her domestic help. About the Author

Former BBC scriptwriter, Sue Clark, is no stranger to comedy. Over the years she’s penned funny lines for many TV and radio stars, including the British-American actor Tracey Ullman. She brings that comedic sparkle to her novel, NOTE TO BOY.

As well as scriptwriting, she’s worked on local and national newspapers, magazines, and in PR. And for one brief summer, she was paid by an American film producer to read novels all day long, in search of the latest block buster. She didn’t find any!

As a (very) young woman, she experienced at first hand the excesses of Swinging London that inspired sections of her novel. Working for an international film company, she lived in central London, bought her miniskirts in Carnaby Street, and partied with film actors, including a James Bond. But she never behaved as badly as Eloise, the outrageous ‘heroine’ of her novel.

She’s a long-time member of Oxford’s Summertown Writing Group, a group of writers who, in normal times, meet once a month to discuss their work, eat lunch and gossip. But mostly gossip!

NOTE TO BOY, published by Unbound, is her first novel. More are in the pipeline.
