About the Author

BARBARA LAMB, over thirty years, worked in over forty countries, gathering, among others, intelligence on their political and socio-economic realities for international agencies in her capacity as co-owner of a Toronto-based consulting firm. Much of her work took place in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, some in dangerous situations. The kernel of the idea for PERIL emerged from three years spent in post-Soviet countries where she observed and became alarmed by the insidious and relentless tactic of populism that was being weaponized by democratically elected rulers to institute authoritarian rule. She predicted that a similar threat would arise in North America. has also written a children’s book. She is currently shaping a sequel to PERIL.
