Richard Denoncourt is the author of immersive, character-driven fantasy, sci-fi, and horror novels. Common themes include journeys through strange worlds, the coming-of-age experience, and the battle against violent and oppressive systems. His books are usually about the heroes who choose to defy those systems...and why we all should.
He has worked a variety of jobs, including bartender, bouncer, ESL teacher, salesman, and technical recruiter. He has lived in the US most of his life but has also lived in Spain and South America. For 3 years, he lived and taught in Cartagena, Colombia, where he wrote the first book in his epic fantasy series, Luminether. Before that, he studied literature and political philosophy at Colgate University and received a Master's in Creative Writing from The New School in New York City.
