About the Author

Justin Hagen has been practicing martial arts since the age of 5 years old and is currently a martial arts instructor, athletic coach, educator for the Pennsylvania public school system, and adjunct professor for the University of the People. Studying at the University of Rhode Island from 2007-2011, Professor Hagen obtained his Bachelor's degree in history with a minor in philosophy with emphasis on East Asian studies and religion. Continuing his education at the graduate level at DeSales University, in his master's thesis, he explored research on the effects martial arts programs have on behavior in the educational setting and received his Master's Degree in Education in 2018. Professor Hagen now seeks to share the knowledge he has accrued through his experiences in life through his writings, seminars and offers free and low cost martial arts philosophy classes through Udemy.
