Tom Golden spent his career chasing bad guys with calculators who commit financial crimes. He is a retired PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Partner and former leader of PwC’s Chicago Forensic Accounting Investigation practice.
He is a frequent speaker and author of both fiction and non-fiction as the lead author of the award-winning Wiley book A GUIDE TO FORENSIC ACCOUNTING INVESTIGATION, now in its second edition. He has been quoted/profiled in a number of worldwide publications including Journal of Accountancy, USA Today, The Financial Times, Business Week, Chicago Tribune, The Age (Melbourne, Australia) and Fraud Magazine. He was one of the fraud experts appearing in the 2017 film ALL THE QUEEN'S HORSES documenting the largest municipal fraud in our nation’s history.
While Tom has retired from PwC he simply cannot turn down continued requests to conduct high-profile investigations—and likely, for the right ones, never will. Together with his wife, a retired school teacher, they sold their Chicago condo and headed west about a hundred miles. They purchased some land building a home in the middle of the woods. Before leaving, they made a stop at PAWS and rescued a mixed-Labrador puppy. Their sons’ families live a short distance away—allowing precious time to spend with their four grandchildren. Life is good!
