Troy was born in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. Raised by his mother and grandmother, his upbringing was heavily impacted by the violence, impoverishment, and drug culture created in Harlem during the 1980’s. From his circumstances, Troy gathered a sense of desperation that fueled his desire to provide a better life for his family. He used the adversity and hardships he faced as ambition to excel academically. Troy graduated from Binghamton University, which is held as a public Ivy, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He currently works as an Analyst at Citigroup in Manhattan. During his time at the University, Troy took a number of philosophy classes for leisure. Intrigued by the power of philosophy and what it could do for minorities specifically, he made it a goal to make the subject more sought after and relatable to the average person. With this mission the general concept and framework for The Cobblestone Flowerpot was born.
