About the Author

Author, former university lecturer and cat lover! I live in south Wales, UK and have been writing most of my life. I have published poetry, short stories, children's books, academic articles and non-fiction. For the last ten years of my working life I was the Director of the Wales Centre for Intergenerational Practice - a partnership between the Welsh Assembly Government, the University of Glamorgan, and the Beth Johnston Foundation. The Centre ran courses and conferences to support organisations working in the field of intergenerational studies. I also designed and ran a project to break down barriers and improve communication between older adults (50+) and teenagers which was run in local comprehensive schools with the help of adults from local communities. This work, together with my interest in myths and legends from around the world, and different aspects of human psychology, has significantly influenced my own writing. I also shamelessly eavesdrop, especially in queues or on public transport - purely for research purposes, of course!
