About the Author

Karen Adams is an author and public speaker sharing her pioneering experiences as one of the first 32 women accepted into the ranks of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1974. She aspires to uplift and give back through compassionate leadership, while living by Regina Brett's famous quote, "Life isn't about how you survived the storm...it's about how you danced in the rain."

Having retired from teaching at MacEwan University in 2015, Karen enjoys life in her ocean view home on Vancouver Island, where she spends countless hours sitting at the marina with friends and family. When she's not speaking, volunteering at her local Community Policing Society, or at rehearsals with her performing arts group, she's traveling and delighting in each new person she meets along the way.
