About the Author

Paul Alster grew up in Leeds, in the north of England. After a career as a jazz musician he worked in Britain as a horse racing commentator, TV presenter and journalist.

He has lived for most of the last 23 years in Israel working extensively as a news reporter for a wide variety of clients, focusing on terrorism and intelligence and has interviewed people from all sides of the Israeli political, religious and cultural spectrum but never lost his passion for sports broadcasting.

Married with two daughters, Paul always felt there was a story that needed telling about the future direction of the State of Israel. A 2017 interview he conducted for The Jerusalem Report sowed the seed of the idea that became the political thriller Kin or Country, his first novel. When not broadcasting or writing, he enjoys walking on the beach near his home in the north of the country, travelling abroad (he's especially crazy about Italy), and fulfilling his passion for really good cuisine.
