Spaulding Taylor has lived in seven countries and visited 44. She was born in South Korea, of American diplomatic parents, and lived in southeast Asia until the age of thirteen. After a degree in cello performance at Jacobs School of Music, she moved to London to study with British cello star Jacqueline du Pre. Afterwards she toured worldwide for over fifteen years with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic.
Her first two novels (While the Music Lasts and Ghost Music) were published by Orion Publishing, to wonderful reviews, and the film rights sold to Channel 4. Her Kirkus-starred adventure/thriller, Last Star Standing, was published by Unbound a month ago.
Here is an author interview, in which she entertainingly discusses her day-job as London ghost writer, playing in world-class orchestras, her trauma when dumped by Orion/Hachette.
